What is counselling?
Sometimes, just being able to talk to someone can have an amazing impact on your mental health and wellbeing. You may be grieving, coming to terms with difficult news or experiencing the breakdown of a relationship. Counselling will provide you with space to explore, share and reduce the emotional tension you may be experiencing, leaving you less burdened, brighter, optimistic and confident. Counselling is generally offered over a shorter timescale compared to CBT and EMDR.
Counselling (Person-centred) tends to allow people an open space to to explore the issues they bring to the session. This type of counselling is less goal focused and structured than CBT and EMDR. Many counsellors (Including my own counselling training) is described as "integrative". If I am invited to work alongside you and we agree that counselling is the most suitable approach, I will be offering you a unique counselling journey influenced with CBT and EMDR knowledge and skills.
